The Reading Mountain attended a very impressive Early Years Conference in Wyndham last week.
The theme for the day was
‘Resilient Families Build Strong Communities-
An Imperative to Act!’
Over 300 participants attended professional learning on the importance of family links, support and how imbalance in these areas can affect the education of young children. There were some amazing speakers.
The Reading Mountain was there too, among many other highly interesting exhibitors. We showcased our 5 titles and they proved to be very popular with many sets being purchased and author visits being planned. It was terrific to meet the early years educators and the Early Education & Care services team at Wyndham City Council!
My first author visit will be to Wilmington Kindergarten, Hoppers Crossing. (I LOVE this part of my role as Reading Advocate for The Reading Mountain!)
I received feedback today, from Shiroma at Wilmington; ‘The children really liked the story, ‘Anna the Panda’ and a few of the children can read already it! They loved the story and I thought it would be beneficial if you visited us at Wilmington Kindergarten, to read and share your other stories.’
This feedback is music to our ears!
I look forward to seeing the kids at Wilmington next week.
